Katherine Legge heading for IndyCar?

English driver Katherine Legge, known by many in the IndyCar fanbase for her two-year run in the old Champ Car World Series, is set to return to open-wheel racing. An AutoWeek report says that Legge, who has recently been racing in the DTM touring car series, has sponsorship for a full-time ride and that she will be heading for a yet-to-be-revealed team on a two-year contract that features a third-year option.

Legge collected six top-10 finishes over 28 races in the 2006 and 2007 CCWS campaigns, with a top finish of sixth achieved at both Milwaukee in 2006 and the Las Vegas street course in 2007. She raced for PKV Racing in 2006 and Dale Coyne Racing in 2007.

After leaving open-wheel, she raced from 2008-2010 in DTM.
