Ed Carpenter is fielding his own IZOD IndyCar Series squad in 2012, serving as the owner/driver for Ed Carpenter Racing. By all accounts, he’s kept a even keel about the challenge. But with undertaking any new project, it never hurts to have a little advice on what to expect.
Especially if that advice is coming from Tony Stewart, who recently claimed his third NASCAR championship and first as an owner/driver for his Stewart-Haas Racing operation in Sprint Cup. In between races at last weekend’s Indy Karting Classic (which featured Stewart winning the Pro race of the event against a field of fellow NASCAR and INDYCAR drivers), Carpenter and Stewart got together to discuss the matters of team ownership.
