Mario Romancini has withdrawn his former four-lap average in an attempt to better his speed and solidify his spot in the Indy 500 field. He withstood a failed bump attempt from Jaques Lazier before he went back out on the track.

Romancini has knocked Sebastian Saavedra back out of the field with a four-lap average of 224.641 m.p.h. He is now 27th in the field.
