Sebastian Saavedra is in the Indianapolis 500, and Jay Howard and Paul Tracy are not.
Jay Howard withdrew his time in an attempt to solidify his spot in the field, but was unable to bump off the 19-year-old Colombian in the final moments of qualifying. Saavedra, who crashed his only car with just a little over one hour left, found himself back on the bubble and in the field due to Paul Tracy withdrawing his own time that would have been enough to get in the show.
