Yesterday, the Indy 500 media tour started up with the 33 drivers in the field heading to ESPN’s campus in Bristol, Connecticut to take part in live TV/radio shows and recorded interviews. Suffice to say, you can expect a major blitz of IndyCar to hit the network”s airwaves in the days ahead. For all the flak that ESPN takes from the sport’s fans (and sometimes, it’s deserved), its massive array of media platforms is a powerful tool in getting in front of both hardcore and casual sports fans.
From there, the drivers shipped up to Boston (whoa-oh-oh!!!) to take part in more media interviews, but they also had a chance to cut loose at another snazzy IZOD shindig inside the Rumor nightclub. IndyCar.com produced a video from the blowout, with Long Beach winner Ryan Hunter-Reay roving around with a microphone. You can check it out below:

Another busy day is in store for the field, as they make their customary trip to New York City today. You can keep track of their journey on the League’s flickr photo account, which has shots from their time at ESPN and in Beantown.
