The grandstands are starting to fill up and the field of 33 cars are now positioned on the main straightaway. Plenty of star power is on hand too, as the fans have been introduced to the Kardashian sisters, Kim and Khloe, as well as the honorary starter — movie icon Jack Nicholson. Sporting a Los Angeles Lakers cap on his head, he’s not hard to find.
I’ll start the updates on Twitter around 12:30 p.m. ET or so and IRR will have periodic updates on the race. As a heads-up, they may be nothing more than the top ten drivers at a certain point in the race; I’m keeping pretty busy between this and FoxSports.com, you know!
