Coming off a ninth-place finish in the IZOD IndyCar Series season opener at Brazil, Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves is aiming to climb out of an early championship hole with a solid result on Sunday at St. Petersburg, Florida (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC). The three-time Indy 500 winner and 2006 and 2007 St. Pete champ was in California today promoting next month’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and made time to chat with my friends over at FoxSports.com. From what I’ve been told, a second part of this interview is coming out on FoxSports.com later in the week (along with another story from me). But in this first clip, Castroneves talks about racing in his home country, his quest for an elusive series championship, the rise of female drivers in the sport, and the joys of fatherhood — along with some other topics. Head on over to FoxSports.com and check it out!
