Graham Rahal may be back in a full-time capacity with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing after his two-race outing with Sarah Fisher’s operation is complete. SPEEDTV.com’s Robin Miller is reporting that the 21-year-old American has attained sponsorship that “likely” will mark his return to the former Champ Car powerhouse at Long Beach next month.
Rahal will drive the No. 67 Dollar General machine for Sarah Fisher Racing at this weekend’s Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (Sun., 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC) and the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park (April 11, Versus).
In two seasons with Newman/Haas/Lanigan, Rahal has claimed one victory and two pole positions. Last year, he finished seventh in the championship with a high finish of third place at both Richmond International Raceway and Twin Ring Motegi.
