Stock car and open-wheel’s biggest events were apparently not enough for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Jamie McMurray took the checkered flag in today’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, making Ganassi the first team owner to win the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500, and Brickyard 400 in the same season. McMurray also became the third NASCAR driver to win Daytona and the ‘400’ in one year.
Between McMurray’s twin triumphs to Dario Franchitti’s pulse-pounding win at the ‘500,’ there’s no doubt that this is a phenomenal accomplishment for the Ganassi gang.
