Interesting news coming out of Southern California right now, where Dale Coyne Racing driver Milka Duno may be pulling a NASCAR-style “start and park” in today’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach due to her lack of pace this weekend.
According to a Twitter report from The Indianapolis Star’s Curt Cavin, Duno will only get a few laps in before she’ll apparently have to park her No. 18 CITGO-backed entry for the rest of the day.
Duno has struggled all season to get anywhere close to the pace set by her competitors, and this weekend has been even worse for her. According to Cavin, she was held out of yesterday’s qualifying due to her time in practice not coming within 107 percent of pole sitter Will Power. Duno’s best practice time was at 78.2535 seconds; Power’s was at 69.9597 seconds.
