Morning reading: March 11, 2010

First off, apologies to labeling yesterday’s morning reading as “March 8th.” I blame it on my current full-time job doing maintenance for a real estate company…you tend to work for long periods and as a result, keeping track of time becomes a non-priority.

Anyway, here’s some morning reading to peruse over your breakfast:

Back to USA Today, where Andretti Autosport’s Tony Kanaan checks in with a piece on the pressure of competing in front of his home fans this weekend in Brazil. The former IZOD IndyCar Series champion isn’t so much afraid of losing as he is about disappointing his family and friends — he has over 400 people wanting to come to the Sao Paulo Indy 300 and he says that he doesn’t want them to think he’s become a “big dog” and no longer cares about them…

A lot of season previews are also starting to emerge. John Oreovicz of ESPN.com goes over what should be a competitive season — although, he concedes that the title will be settled between the Ganassi and Penske squads and that the 2010 title is defending champ Dario Franchitti’s to lose…

Sarah Fisher will step out of her No. 67 Dollar General Car and let Graham Rahal drive it at St. Petersburg, Florida and Barber Motorsports Park later this season. Those two events were part of her nine-race schedule for 2010, but as Fisher tells Autosport.com, she had no reservations about getting Rahal on her team. Fisher will now run a seven-race docket, all on U.S. ovals…

Tim Tuttle of SI. com also puts up a preview for 2010, which takes the “lack of American drivers” angle that’s sure to be a bugaboo the league will have to deal with all season…
