Ryan Hunter-Reay’s season will have at least one more race.
Andretti Autosport team owner Michael Andretti told SPEEDTV.com’s Robin Miller that American ethanol producers ICM and Green Plains Renewable Energy will step up and back his driver this weekend for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 (Sun., 1:30 p.m. ET, Versus). Hunter-Reay’s sponsorship funding from IZOD ran out after the most recent IZOD IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, in which he finished seventh.
He currently sits sixth in the championship as both the top American driver and the top driver outside of the ‘Big Two’ teams of Target Chip Ganassi Racing and Team Penske.
