The first segment of qualifying is in the books and now, it’s time for the nine fastest drivers to have it out for the Indy 500 pole. Here’s the qualifying order for those Fast Nine competitors:
1. 3-Helio Castroneves (P1 in first segment)
2. 06-Hideki Mutoh (P7 in first segment)
3. 9-Scott Dixon (P5 in first segment)
4. 77-Alex Tagliani (P3 in first segment)
5. 12-Will Power (P2 in first segment)
6. 10-Dario Franchitti (P4 in first segment)
7. 30-Graham Rahal (P6 in first segment)
8. 6-Ryan Briscoe (P8 in first segment)
9. 20-Ed Carpenter (P9 in first segment)
All of those drivers will have their earlier speeds erased and will make one four-lap qualifying run with optional attempts as time permits. The shootout begins at 4:30 p.m. ET, so stay tuned to twitter.com/estradawriting for updates throughout the 90-minute battle.
