It appears that the venerable Milwaukee Mile — which has not seen any major racing action in a year due to financial trouble — is going to make the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule. Multiple reports have surfaced today about the Indy Racing League holding a press conference at the Mile on Friday at 11 a.m. local time.
Autoweek expects the series to confirm a 16-race docket on Friday, with the site of the season finale to be determined. Las Vegas Motor Speedway has indicated major interest, but Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, Calif.) is also a possibility. If the latter is chosen, it would be the lone ISC-controlled track on the schedule.
