Video: Rubens Barrichello takes on Sonoma

Chevrolet’s weekend testing at Infineon Raceway concluded today with Rubens Barrichello turning more laps on the Northern California road course in Tony Kanaan’s No. 11 KV Racing Technology machine.

It was Barrichello’s second IndyCar test with KV as he tries to put together a program in the series after a 19-year tenure in Formula One. According to tweets from Infineon Raceway, Barrichello’s lap of 77.88 seconds was fourth-quickest on the day behind those of Will Power (76.98), Ryan Briscoe (77.02) and E.J. Viso (77.82). According to KV, he ran 94 laps across Saturday and Sunday.

“Once again, I am very pleased to have been able to give the team my feedback on the car,” said Barrichello in a team release. “It was great to get to know the Infineon track, it was a hard track to learn, but if everything can fall into place and I do run with IndyCar and KV Racing Technology for the season, it has been very valuable.

“Tony was in the car this afternoon (he let me have another half day) and its great to work with a “brother” that is keen to have me in the series. It has been a good couple of days and I am pleased. I hope I have helped the team further.”

While we wait and see if Barrichello will go racing in the IZOD IndyCar Series this season, we can look at him tackle the hilly, technical Infineon road course. The video below was originally uploaded this afternoon by SPEEDTV.com’s Marshall Pruett on the SPEED Channel website, with KV putting the video on its own YouTube account later on.
